Southwest ISD Resnik Middle School

MEP Engineering, Inc., served as a subconsultant to Pfluger & Associates Architects to complete this $27.4 million school in Von Ormy, Texas. This two-story, 170,000 square foot building features a stand alone athletics and fine arts building, cafeteria, library, stage, and administration area. The athletic amenities include a practice field, a football stadium, and two gymnasiums. The school is built in a rural area, which created an added challenging for project design for the team, who would need to establish new utility services in a remote location.

MEP was responsible for the HVAC systems design, including a combination of rooftop DX units with gas heat and 100% outside air DX units.  Plumbing systems contained electronic sensors on water closets, urinals, and lavatories to conserve water and ensure sanitation. Electrical systems included classrooms, LED common area lighting, power distribution, cable tray systems for all data and communication systems, as well as fire alarm systems.
