Round Rock ISD Pearson Ranch Middle School
This new 179,000 square foot middle school was completed in August 2017. Pearson Ranch Middle School was designed with a sense of innovation and creativity. The classrooms are intended to be used as open spaces with flexible furniture and Promethean boards in every classroom, in an effort to foster a less traditional learning style. The school also includes lecture spaces, a dance studio, a stadium, and band hall. In total, this school can hold up to 1200 students. MEP Engineering, Inc. was hired by Griffin + Jacobson as a subconsultant and designed the central plant and the entirety of the chilled water system. MEP also designed the lighting system for both the school and the stadium. LED lights were installed in the interior of the school, if over 12 feet, fluorescent lighting was installed for any light under 12 feet, and all exterior lighting was LED.
