Randy Fuston, P.E. Principal
Randy Fuston is experienced in designing all types of HVAC systems from smaller, budget-conscious projects to complex, 500K SF new facilities. He has built a particular expertise in the K-12 market where he evaluates system types and costs, life cycle costs, and future replacement costs and incorporates into his designs for geothermal, chilled water, and heating water systems. Randy has been focused almost entirely on the K-12 market since joining the firm in 1996 and has become an industry expert in HVAC and plumbing designs for all types of educational facilities.
For years, Randy has been an integral part of MEP’s success at developing and maintaining many of the firm’s long-standing K-12 clients. His dedication to the client’s success both immediately and long-term as well as his easy ability to form solid relationships with clients and fellow team members demonstrates a team mentality that is at the core of Randy’s personality. He is quick to brainstorm options prior to design and provides ongoing support to clients well beyond completion. He invests significant time during the construction administration phase to minimize the chance of any issue impacting the project schedule or budget, and to understand firsthand how MEP’s designs can be improved in the future. His ability to effectively communicate with owners and team members ensures designs that are high quality yet simple and sustainable.
Outside of work, Randy is a sports nut. He has remained a life-long Dallas Cowboys fan, which only demonstrates his dedication and commitment to working through adversity and challenges. He and his wife have three daughters, all of whom are registered nurses. Randy and his wife look forward to taking advantage of their empty nest and traveling to experience new destinations.
