North East ISD LEE High School Performing Arts Center
Slated to be completed in 2020, LEE High Schools Performing Arts Center is an 82,000 square foot space including band/orchestra halls, scene shops, dance studios and auditorium.
The new performing arts center was to be built on an existing site, which created several challenges for this project. For example, the existing building had to be demolished while the campus was occupied. In that same vein, a boiler had to be relocated, while maintaining the functionality of the school utilities. The basic designs MEP Engineering, Inc. handled were the new 300-ton chilled water system including both air handling units and fan coil units, a new hot water boiler, as well as the LED theatrical lighting.
The completed project’s final cost was $28 million, and can seat up to 850 attendees.
