Michael Calahan, P.E. Associate Principal | Sr. Engineer | Mechanical

After graduating from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi in 2007, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mike Calahan began his career in as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer. He worked on numerous projects types including hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, physical therapy centers, and educational facilities.  His varied experience gives him a well-rounded understanding of building mechanical and plumbing systems. Since joining MEP Engineering in 2017, he has proven himself to be a flexible and adept engineer with a talent for problem solving.

Mike enjoys the creative aspects of the engineering profession. He loves challenging himself to develop inventive and cost effective solutions, and finds satisfaction in helping clients achieve the most efficient systems available. Mike prioritizes open communication with all stakeholders and considers it to be one of the most important tools for the successful execution of a project. With Mike’s affable demeanor and engaging personality, he excels at coordinating with his fellow MEP team members, as well as with the other consultant disciplines on the project team. Mike closely monitors advancements in engineering and technology to ensure he can present the most appropriate solution for each project application.  Most of all, he enjoys being part of a collaborative project team that shares these values and is dedicated to working cooperatively to achieve a successful project.

Off the clock, Mike keeps busy with his growing family. He coaches youth sports, including basketball, baseball, and soccer for his two sons. Recently, he and his wife celebrated the birth of their daughter. If he has any spare time, he enjoys automotive restoration and bowling.
