Michael B. Green, P.E. Founder | Sr. Consulting Engineer

Mike Green, one of MEP’s Founding Principals, now serves as a Consulting Senior Mechanical Engineer for select project assignments.  Mike brings over 30 years of mechanical engineering experience and is uniquely qualified to provide seasoned leadership throughout all phases of the design process including the preparation of design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, construction administration, and project reports.  MEP will engage Mike on challenging technical projects that align well with his unique engineering skill set and past project experience.

Mike has designed HVAC systems up to 1,800 tons for offices, universities, schools, laboratories, data centers, manufacturing, and industrial facilities.  He is a recognized expert in the design and application of highly efficient geothermal heat pump systems, with over 40 completed geothermal projects in the Central Texas region since 1990.  He has contributed to numerous industry publication articles, including the ASHRAE Journal, on geothermal HVAC systems and has served as a Corresponding Member on ASHRAE Technical Committee 6.8 – Geothermal Heat Pump and Energy Recovery Applications.

Mike has also developed an expertise in executing challenging MEP renovation projects.  Given Mike’s experience and extensive project portfolio, he can tap his own past work experience to understand the rationale behind existing system designs and utilize that knowledge to make better, more efficient improvements to new renovation designs.  Mike has also spent his entire career building strong relationships with owners, contractors and fellow consultants, helping to foster open and ongoing dialogue.

Outside of work, Mike’s passions are ranching, classic automobiles, and restoring antique tractors.  He keeps numerous tractors in his personal collection including a steel wheel model that is over 100 years old.  Mike really loves tractors.
