Mark F. Bemis has over 30 years of extensive Electrical Engineering experience, including the successful operation of his own engineering firm in Connecticut. Mark has a diverse background in building electrical system design ranging from K-12 schools to collegiate, athletic, healthcare, public safety, libraries and outdoor recreational facilities. His experience includes supervising and designing for electrical power distribution, lighting and life safety systems for all types of commercial and institutional building projects. He excels at developing unique and efficient lighting systems and is also very experienced in designing power distribution and fire alarm systems. What differentiates Mark from most other engineers is his ability to work easily and cooperatively with the larger project team, including owners, architects and contractors. He works diligently to first fully understand the project needs and unique challenges, then crafts his designs solutions to offer the best overall value for the given construction budget.
At the firm, Mark manages the electrical engineering staff in the San Antonio office. He also actively oversees the electrical power, lighting and special systems production on all his projects. As a LEED accredited professional, Mark is skilled in the application of design concepts that are both energy efficient and sustainable. He invests significant research to understand new technologies and thoroughly vets those opportunities before making any recommendations to his clients.
Mark has handled numerous high-profile projects throughout his career, such as the indoor football facility and renovations to the Gample Pavilion basketball stadium at the University of Connecticut and has built a particular expertise in educational facilities.
Outside of work, Mark can often be found outside the house whenever possible. He enjoys active athletics such as biking, running, golf, hiking and skiing – basically anything that lets him enjoy the great outdoors.
