Elise Garfield, MBA Associate Principal | Controller
Elise Garfield comes to MEP Engineering with an extensive resume of accounting experience. She is responsible for overseeing the firm’s accounting operations, producing financial reports, and developing revenue forecasts and expense budgets. Elise found her professional path early, beginning with a co-op program in high school, which introduced her to the accounting field. When her meticulosity became apparent, she earned multiple promotions and quickly advanced in her business acumen. While she began her career working in the medical field, she eventually gravitated to the A/E/C market, working for a plumbing contractor, a general construction contractor, and finally a civil engineering firm before joining MEP in 2021.
Elise always enjoys a challenge, and thrives on hard work. She is always looking for a way to improve business processes and procedures, and never hesitates to share her knowledge when the opportunity presents itself. Elise also considers herself a life-long learner. She earned her BBA in accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2010, before moving on to earn her MBA at Western Governors University in 2019. Elise is currently studying to pursue her Certified Management Accounting (CMA) professional certification.
When she’s not in the office, or studying for her CMA, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. They are fans of anything allowing them to be outdoors, including going to the lake, camping, and attending rodeos.
