The Hartford

MEP Engineering provided services for Hartford’s new 105,000 square foot three-story call center, including a 1,600 square foot data center with two ten-ton computer room air conditioning units, arranged for 100% redundancy with a common supply and return ductwork system.  The electrical service consists of an overhead/underground loop feed from the utility company which feeds a pad mounted transformer which in turn serves the line side of an automatic transfer switch (ATS).  The other line side of the ATS is served from a 1350 KW diesel engine generator, sized to provide backup power for the entire facility.  The load side of the ATS serves a main switchboard, with a service class TVSS.  The server room is served by a 180 KW UPS.
