Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center Renovations (3rd Party Consulting)

The Henry B. González Convention Center, located in San Antonio, was extensively renovated as part of the city’s plan to revitalize the downtown area. The project included expanding the center’s existing space by more than 20 percent, which featured a new atrium and a larger ballroom. The renovation also included rewiring the facility for multi-gigabyte speed.

Project Control of Texas was commissioned by the City of San Antonio, to provide staff augmentation for a third party reviewer of the design, as well as observation of construction. Project Control of Texas hired MEP Engineering, Inc. to complete these tasks.

In this capacity, MEP provided third party review of the M|E|P designs throughout the design development portion. As the project moved into construction, MEP provided full time on-site construction administration personnel to review the construction progress and provide additional interpretation of the design documents.
