Kevin Goetz, P.E., LEED AP BD+C, CEM, CBCP Senior Consulting Engineer

Kevin Goetz is a Senior Engineer and Project Manager at Waterloo|MEP Engineering, LLC, an independent State of Texas HUB-certified engineering firm strategically aligned with MEP Engineering, Inc.  When teamed with MEP, Waterloo|MEP is equipped to provide a range of engineering support services on a consulting basis.

To say Kevin Goetz’s range of project experience is broad is putting it lightly.  Kevin has designed HVAC systems for projects such as custom retail stores at Walt Disney World, high-rise university dormitories, Latin America Corporate Headquarters in Panama for a Fortune 500 company, and a Hebrew collections library housing millennia-old artifact, just to name a few.  He has successfully completed MEP engineering projects across North America for a number of domestic and international clients.  Kevin has designed HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial office and retail buildings, educational and municipal facilities, industrial warehouses, mixed use developments, senior living facilities, and hotels.  In addition to being able to tap his broad range of project experience, Kevin also brings an innate ability to listen to clients’ wants, determine true needs and design a system that works both in the interim and in the long-term.

Mr. Goetz is also proficient in the design of highly efficient geothermal HVAC systems. He has successfully developed geothermal designs for over 20 buildings including libraries, K-12 schools, and operations centers.  He has also made a concerted effort to incorporate energy efficient designs wherever feasible.  Kevin has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2009 and has designed over 10 LEED certified projects at all certification levels including Silver, Gold, and Platinum.  One of his projects included one of the first LEED platinum schools in the State of Ohio.  He offers extensive knowledge in sustainable building design practices and is fully versed in various green building rating systems. He was also an early adopter of Revit MEP and is proficient enough that he now conducts training seminars for the firm.

Outside of work, Kevin embraces the outdoor life here in Central Texas.  He can usually be found playing golf or walking the trail at Lady Bird Lake with his wife and two dogs whenever possible.  Though at times he misses his friends in family back in the Midwest, he certainly does not miss the cold Kentucky winters.
